Remove the background image by using pen tool or extract tool. I personally like to use pen tool as I will have precise control on which area of the image to be selected, but it's all individual's preference Name this layer "Chrome" ::If you are using Pen Tool, CTRL+Click on the path thmbnail to activate the selection:: |

Desaturate the image (CTRL + SHIFT + U) or Image>Adjustment>Desaturate ::Desaturation is a quick way to make greyscale version image, but designer does not have control over the desaturation process, Hue/Saturation tool (CTRL + U) or Image>Adjustment>Hue/saturation has saturation control as well as hue and lightness to provide a little bit "variation" of greyscale image :: |

Apply Chrome filter (Filter>Sketch>Chrome) with detail = 5 and smoothness = 10 The setting is just a guideline. Design is encouraged to play with the setting to get the desired result |

Select the Background layer from Layer Pallete and click Fill or Adjustment Layer Icon to create Gradient Fill Layer above the Background layer |

Select the first option of the gradient matrix to choose Foreground to Background gradient flow Click the Gradient Bar next to the word "Gradient" to access to Gradient Editor Pallete |

You will find Color Stop that looks like pencil underneath Gradient Bar The left Color Stop is to set the foreground color and the right Color Stop to set the background color of the Gradient Fill Layer

The background will be set into light blue to dark blue gradually if the previous steps are followed, but feel free to expriment with other option of the Gradient Fill Layer |

Set the Chrome Layer Blending Mode into SCREEN At this stage, you will get Transparent man image as the result of changing Blending Mode You may stop here if you are happy with the current result |

You can Invert the color of the Chrome layer by using (CTRL + I) to get Ice Man effect |

Change the Blending Mode of Chrome Layer into HARD LIGHT to reveal more dark area of the image |

Activate the Chrome layer selection by pressing CTRL + Click on the Chrome Layer thumbnail in the Layer Pallete Select Chrome Layer Click on the Fill or Adjustment Layer Icon and choose Hue/Saturation
Name this layer "Red Saturation" |

Activate the Chrome layer selection by pressing CTRL + Click on the Chrome Layer thumbnail in the Layer Pallete Select Red Saturation Layer Click on the Fill or Adjustment Layer Icon and choose Hue/Saturation
